WE ONLY BLOOMING DID IT!!!
With the help and support and love and just general spurring me on and making me believe it might just be possible, all of you and some more, made it happen. I successfully won my daughter Abbie's Hare at the auction, to keep it in the community for everyone to enjoy.
I'm not going to lie, I was an emotional wreck and I am certainly not cut out for the auction room. You need nerves of steel and probably a good poker face, none of which I am known for. I burst into tears when the hammer went down and someone else had to hold up my number as it took me a good half hour to regain my composure after.
Hetty Hare is not mine, she is every single person who helped and I can't THANK everyone enough. It just shows that "nothing is stronger than a small hope that doesn't give up", which leads nicely onto this months box!!!
When Matt Haig joined us for our online meet way back in March, he promised to come back before Christmas and I promised his next book would go in one of our boxes too.
It's finally time - The Comfort Book by Matt Haig is October's Boozy Book Club Book and I have paired it with so many lovely comforting surprises as well as this month's Cocktail, Gingerly Comforting.
This box is all about self-love, warmth and me-time. It's about looking after yourself, having the right tools to do so and should make you feel as wrapped in care as a comforting hug.

When Matt spoke with us last time, he also told us about his kid's book, A Boy called Christmas, being made into a movie. My 9 year old son, and I read it together this summer and it's inspired a kid's Christmas Book Box too.
