When my friend lost her husband and became a widow far too young and her 7 year old daughter had a future that didn't include her Daddy anymore, I wanted more than anything to give them something that would hopefully help them in their grief and that was also  a tangible way to include him in their future.
 
A way of opening conversations of remembrance, of acknowledging his absence but also recognising that new memories and even happy ones would be made because that would be what he'd have wanted, to honour his life by living theirs as a full one.
 
So I made 100 oak wood hearts, engraved with a personalised message that could be carried around on holidays, future events and times of reflection, that could be left in a ritual of remembrance in the beautiful or significant places to them.
 
My friend and her daughter have left them on beautiful beaches, colourful streets, beside tumbling waterfalls and even thrown onto the stage at a music gig and though it's just a tiny gesture, I think it's helped and it's certainly made me smile with them.
 
We think it's too nice an idea not to share, so now you can order them yourself too and choose the words you have written on them. I hope it helps whoever they're bought for too.
